Fall is a magical time to make an 1850-mile grand circle through Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona by campervan starting from Las Vegas as peak season has ended and temperatures are mild. Road trip to: Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, on to a few Route 66 towns, Mesa Verde National Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico and back to Las Vegas.  For a faster but just as scenic road trip, visit both the South and North Rims of Grand Canyon National Park, then loop back to Las Vegas via Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.

San Francisco in the Fall

US News Travel reports that the best time to visit San Francisco is the months of September – November. Fall marks a sweet spot for San Francisco tourism. The weather is often warmer than it is in the summer. Average temperatures lie in the low 70s, and consistently sunny send city dwellers to the beach. Spend a few days in San Francisco, pick up your campervan and head south along the spectacular coastal drive on Highway 1. 

Less Fog means better views off HIGHWAY 1

October and early November are the best times to travel Highway 1 because there is less fog to obstruct your views.
