Hawaii Island Hopping
Bakpak Dave
Greece is not the only place for island hopping - the gods were looking over Hawaii too! This trip covers the five islands of Hawaii and their highlights; keep in mind that with a shorter stay, it is better to visit fewer islands rather than trying to squeeze too much in. Hawaii and her beaches are about slowing down a bit and taking it down a notch; you are on island time now. Paradise found.
Note: You will most likely arrive in Honolulu on the island of Oahu if you are coming from Australia/Asia. There are flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco direct to Maui.
Highlights
Aloha. Explore the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. Travel to the top of Haleakala Crater just in time for sunrise. Try your hand at Big Wave surfing or just relax in the sunshine and ogle those who do. Bike down mountain paths in the jungle and windsurf in the warm Pacific waters. Take in the Na Pali coast by foot or by helicopter, then hop a boat for some up-close-and-personal whale watching. Tread on lava floes and catch the drippings of a live volcano in the warm Hawaiian night. Spend an afternoon bouncing waves on a jet ski or discover how many colors beaches come in. Join in a sunset drum circle with the locals, roast a pig and a pineapple on a spit, find that perfect seashell and of course, get lei’d.
